StayAwake is a small and simple Freeware application that prevents external hard disk drives from entering the sleep mode. Some external hard disk drives make use of a sleep mode that kicks in after some time of inactivity. The external hard disk drive will wake up again when new data is requested from the drive. This wake up delay can be irritating or even problematic under some circumstances. The free StayAwake application effectively prevents external hard disk drives from entering the sleep mode. The StayAwake application does this by writing a small text file in the root of the drive every time interval. StayAwake will run invisible after you have configured it and uses very little system resources.
